Indian eVisa Application Process for Austrian Nationals

What are the Necessary Documents to Obtain an Indian eVisa for Austrian Nationals?

There is a set of eligibility needs that all visitors from Austria are required to meet before they set to apply for an Indian eVisa. The requirements to obtain an Indian eVisa for an Austrian citizen are as follows:

  • The visitor must own a passport that holds a validity for a minimum of six months from the date of the traveller’s arrival in India.
  • The traveller must have at least two blank pages on his/her passport for entry and exit stamps when visiting the country. 
  • Every applicant applying for an Indian eVisa must possess their own passport irrespective of their age.
  • Every child visiting the country of India with their parents must possess their own passport and an eVisa application form filled on their behalf.  
  • Those who possess any kind of diplomatic passports, or any International Travel Documents, are not eligible to apply for an Indian eVisa passport. 
  • You cannot convert an Indian eTourist travel permit to any other visa type.
  • The Indian tourist eVisa cannot be extended beyond the allowable period of stay in the country.
  • The Indian tourist eVisa is only valid for a period of ninety consecutive days in the country. This period of stay cannot be expended.
  • All Austrian visitors are only allowed to apply for the Indian tourist eVisa up to two times a year and not more than that. 
  • All Austrian nationals must carry a return ticket or a ticket for onward travelling plans while they apply for an Indian Tourist eVisa.
  • If your tourist eVisa gets approved, as a traveller you will be required to carry a copy of the Indian tourist eVisa throughout their stay in India. Please keep it safe in a protected file and show it only to the airport officials when needed.

What Should we do After Receiving our eVisa via Mail? 

Lastly, it is best to carry at least three printed copies of your tourist eVisa to the airport. You will be required to show the printed copy of the eVisa along with your traveller’s passport to the Indian Immigration and Border Control officials, upon arrival.

The details mentioned on your eVisa and your passport will be cross-checked by the Indian airport officials and your fingerprints, and photograph will be submitted at the airport.

Once all your documents are verified at the airport and data collected, you will be permitted to enter India. Your passport will then have an entry sticker which will permit you to enter the country. The sticker acts as a proof that you are a verified Austrian traveller.
